BPL T20 2016: Schedule release date, When start & New teams- The Bangladesh Premier League is the top-notch Bangladesh franchise professional league for Twenty20 cricket club. The 2016-17 Premier League will be the fourth season of this prestigious league. The Bangladesh Cricket Board is entrusted with the responsibility of organizing the league and in total seven teams will be participating in the tournament. The tournament is scheduled to start on 4th November 2016 and end on December 9, 2016. There are two new participating teams, namely Khulna Titans and Rajshahi Kings that are all set to take part in the competition with the new ownership after they missed the franchises of the 2015 competition.

However, the franchise of Sylhet Super Stars was not included for the competition and it was widely believed that it was because Sylhet had breached the agreement of franchise. Another reason that was put for the ouster of Sylhet was that the team failed to pay the bank guaranty. But, on 21st September it was made clear that it was only due to the disciplinary reasons.

Bangladesh Premier League 2016 Players and Teams

The names of 301 players were included in the Bangladesh Premier League T20 2016-17. In the included names, 133 were local and 168 were from the foreign soil. But, after the last round of scrutiny, the names of only eighty-five players were finalized. The two new entrants, namely Khulna Titans, and Rajshahi Kings were given the rights to pick two players from their end while the existing franchisees were given the right to retain only two local players from the last tournament. The Sylhet Super Stars is not included in the competition.
